The Chords UK take us back to the birthplace of Mod Revival. Alongside bands such as The Purple Hearts, The Jam and Secret Affair. The Chords' roots run deep in the soul of the mods revival. Paul Weller can be counted as a fan and frequented their early gigs.
In '79 Sham 69's Jimmy Pursey signed the group to his JP Productions company.
Their numerous mod hits include:
Now It's Gone, Something's Missing, Maybe Tomorrow and The British Way Of Life.
Don't miss this rare US appearance!!!
The Untouchables are the OG Mod Ska Soul boys. Their hits include: I Spy For The FBI, Wild Child, Free Yourself, What's Gone Wrong and Agent Double O Soul. Formed in 1981 as part of the embryonic L.A. mod revival, The Untouchables were signed to Stiff Records and played gigs with The B-52's, Black Uhuru, Bow Wow Wow, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fishbone, No Doubt and X all over California.
Bart, Kevin and Co. have certainly earned their place in the history books as the original Mod Revival band in California. Come celebrate the 40 year anniversary of their Plan Of Action Record. 60s R&B, garage grooves with a distinctly West Coast vibe.
The Question are the first, and arguably most significant Mod power pop band ever to emerge from Los Angeles. Since their legendary live shows in the 80s, the trio have had a rabid and dedicated following.
The Question's music often transcended genres, drawing the admiration of non-Mods as well. Notable music journalist Jack Rabid of The Big Takeover stated recently “It's one of the great mysteries why this power pop band wasn't a household name. The Question is one of the best bands ever to come out of Los Angeles.”
A Jam-inspired Mod power-pop trio from San Jose, The Odd Numbers have been on the front lines of the Bay Area scene playing live music since the late 80s.
TIGERELLAS (Members of the Pandoras) are getting together to rock some cool obscure covers and celebrate this groovy era! The Pandoras were a huge influence on the music scene of 80s Los Angeles - from their 60s roots came a good time nasty blast of groovy all-girl garage grit.
The Premonitions are the epitome Garage/Mod swagger. Their sound is a mix of everything cool about the 60’s, Soul, RnB, Pop Art, Beat… done raw and without pretension. They will be releasing their debut album this year on Outro Records and plan to tour the U.S. and Europe again as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
The Violet Mindfield are a Southern California garage, psych group formed in 2013. These lads are for real! John is a master songwriter (and a proper Mod Face) who came alive on their latest L.P., California Burning (on Outro Records). They’ve mastered the airy, authentic, tube driven, analog 60's sound but inject the raw energy and rough edges make them an instant Mod/Garage/Psych standout!! All the elements you love about the genre are here but somehow, they make it unmistakably their own!
The Sweet Nuthins are more than Modettes, they've got the chops of seasoned players and are sweet sugar with a sour punch! Inspired by the upbeat grooves of the swingin' 1960s, The Sweet Nuthins bring their own twist of girl power to rock ‘n’ roll. The groovy California gals fuse together surf, garage, and a raw sound that gets people movin’ all night long.
The Wyld Gooms dig up the bones of Sky Saxon and Rudi Protrudi to stew up the wyldest freakbeat sounds in decades. Wear your seatbelts, freaks!
